Boris's idea #1 goes down the tube....literally!

It didn’t take long for London’s protest against Gordon Brown to backfire then. Exactly one month after they elected Boris Johnson into office, anyone having the misfortune to be using the Underground system faced mayhem as his alcohol ban, intended to make public transport safer and more pleasant, was anything but that. Certainly if you’re one of the four tube drivers, three other staff members or two police officers who were assaulted you’ll be less than impressed with the new Mayor.
